Dan Colman, big on winnings, small on smiles...
The jollier Daniel has defended his comments about Colman on twitter

One Drop champion Daniel Colman has spoken up once again about his decision not to promote poker to the world's poker press after his historic $15m win at this years $1m All In For One Drop.

The 24 year old high stakes heads-up sit and go expert took to his rarely used twitter account to rebuff assessments made of him by Team PokerStars Pro Daniel "KidPoker复古传奇sf" Negreanu and veteran ESPN poker broadcaster Lon McEarchern in the aftermath of his big win.

It's been well documented that Colman refused to partake in most media interviews immediately after his victory, as well as standing impassively throughout the award ceremony which saw him take home the $15.3m first prize, shunning the limelight and calling poker "a very dark game". Colman didn't want to promote poker as, according to shortly after the victory  "It bothers me that people care so much about poker’s well-being. As poker is a game that has such a net negative effect on the people playing it. Both financially and emotionally.

Negreanu suggested that perhaps Colman's views weren't fully formed in his blog, saying, "He is young, and I'm not saying that in a condescending manner, just at the age of 24 life is just beginning, your views on the world, the questions you have, are just starting to form. I'm not the same person I was when I was 24, and I certainly don't hold the same views I did when I was 24"

Commenting on Colman's decision ESPN commentator McEachern stated that "Colman is only 23 year old and is trying to figure out who he is and what he stands for"
