PokerStars looks to have written off their live poker events for 2020. The PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC) 2020 and EPT Barcelona have been rescheduled for 2021.

Disappointing

Just as the lockdown is easing across the world poker players from every corner of the globe have been thinking about when live poker will restart.

Now it looks as if PokerStars aren’t planning on running their events any time soon.

As we move into June many are thinking that all the live games - albeit with some safety changes - will be back on the menu some time in July. The PSPC and EPT Barcelona were scheduled for August, so why cancel now?

Managing Director at The Stars Group Séverin Rasset said: “We realize that this news will come as a disappointment to many, but we know you will understand and appreciate why this is necessary. Our priority is the safety and good health of all our players and staff, as well as the communities that host such large events.”

The PSPC was to be another showpiece event for the live poker community. In 2019 the tournament attracted 1,039 entrants, making it the largest field ever for a buy-in of $25,000 or more.

Even now there is no indication of when PokerStars’ next events will take place.

“While we cannot provide exact dates at this time, we do know that the PSPC will be back bigger and better in 2021 at Casino Barcelona. Until then, we will focus on creating a life changing and memorable PokerStars experience for when we are safe and together again.”

It looks like we’re all going to have to sit back and hope partypoker comes up with something soon. The Triton Super High Roller复古传奇sf crew will no doubt at least give us something to watch online, even if the mere mortals can’t afford it.
